Introducing Inuka

The meaning of Inuka in Swahili ‘to rise up’ and that is truly what Inuka has set out to do: helping women in sub-saharan African rise-up out of poverty through entrepreneurship and business as well as promote their wellbeing through the provision of HIV-AIDS education. Our model is simple: we connect global social investors like yourself to women business owners who require capital to set-up or to expand their businesses in sub-saharan Africa. Inuka creates this link through our partner microfinance institutions in Africa who identify women entrepreneurs with sustainable, viable businesses who require capital. As part of the loan disbursement process, the women are encouraged to attend information sessions on HIV-AIDS provided through our Health care NGO partners located in the same community.

At Inuka we have a passion for helping women out of poverty but not through charity or aid, we believe that microfinance offers an excellent tool to promote the development of women through making small loans to capitalize their businesses. By making a small investment in a female owned business you are making a significant impact in the lives of women and their families in Africa. It is a globally accepted fact that investing women translates into long term gains for her immediate family and community at large. Please join us in making this revolution happen!

"Women make up one half of the world’s population and without their engagement and contribution, we cannot hope to achieve a rapid economic recovery nor efficiently tackle global; challenges such as climate change, food security and conflict"
